Wonderings... The art of not knowing...
And, by not knowing, one is free
to delight and to experience a magical sense of awe at the most commonplace
comings and goings of their world. And, by not knowing, one is ready
to fearlessly question and to explore with wild abandon the amazing
connections and fascinating spaces between everyday happenings. And,
by not knowing, one is open to that sanctuary within which provides
enough companionship and guidance required for the journey. And, by
not knowing, one is open to listening... And by not knowing, one is empty
and available to wonder.
Wonderings is an opportunity in which provides opportunities for fellow
lifelong learners, whether they are child or adult, to experience an
authentic way of living, a visionary way of seeing, and a purposeful
way of being in the world.
Key components of wondering:
A sense of adventure where no one wants to be left behind,
A sense of place where time serves the moment,
A sense of discovery where one's personal voice is reflected through
creating writing,
imaginative art possibilities, and something not thought of yet,
A sense of making the acquaintance of others who...
And a sense of commitment where a priority is to provide space big enough
for any sized idea to take root or to fly.
Wonderings began as a journey for middle school aged children. The
more their stories were told, the more adults said, " What about
me?" Personal space and time are crucial to being able to experience
wonder.

Each Wondering is theme-based
The theme provides a focus around which
an experience is created. The experience then seeks expand awareness
and offer an opportunity for participants to understand the riches that
can be found right in their own backyards, so that once the program
is over, they are able to see their community and the members within
it in a new light. In a world that seems to promote isolation, creating
communities whether it is talking over coffee, working over a garden
bed, listening to someone share their passion eases those deeply felt
feelings of feeling alone. So, Week 1 sets out to introduce, initiate,
and inform about how the theme relates to them locally.
This summer's program was based on an exploration of the beauty and
magnificence of the horse.(link)
